Heinrich A. Bieler is taking a well-deserved retirement in June 2025 after more than 20 years as Head of Certifications at the Swiss Safety Center. He is handing over his life’s work, the certification body that he built up into a renowned player in the Swiss certification market, to his successor.
Heinrich A. Bieler’s successor is Michael Grünenfelder, Dr oec. HSG. As an experienced leader in the professional services sector, Michael Grünenfelder has led national and international departments as a line manager and has extensive experience in leading large projects and project teams for infrastructure projects (thermal power plants and renewable energies). He also has extensive experience in collaborating with public authorities and with the field of compliance, avoiding conflicts of interest and ensuring impartiality.
His practical experience in the field of certification includes numerous use cases in process optimisation and in the setting up of management systems according to various standards.
Dr Elisabetta Carrea, CEO of Swiss Safety Center AG, believes the election of Michael Grünenfelder as the new head of the certification body is an opportunity to consolidate the organisation’s position as a renowned, leading certification provider in Switzerland while continuing along the path of success for further growth in this area.
